A Getaway with Miraclesuit!
Growing up I had a love/hate relationship with my body, I wasn't confident in my skin even though I was 110 pounds and 5'7. Fast forward 20 years and now I am very confident however the love/hate relationship has returned especially when I am wearing a bathing suit! I was recently invited on a trip to Tulum with Miraclesuit - my first reaction of course was excitement. Then it began to dawn on me that I would have to wear a bathing suit on camera!!! My excitement turned to fear. When I was younger I had the body for it but not the confidence and now I have the confidence but lost the body! What was I to do? I started with a cleanse but that only helped so much (maybe I lost an ounce?). I was stressed out but then I tried on my Miraclesuit and literally looked like I had dropped several pounds in a matter of seconds! The bathing suit slowly brought back some confidence...More... |

NYFW: Nicholas K FW17 Runway
Nicholas K kicked off NYFW with their striking Fall/Winter 2017 collection at The Skylight at Clarkson Square in New York City on February 9th. The collection was titled “Built From Scratch” and was inspired by the promising communal diversity and unity of the 90’s decade. Models marched down the runway in a variety of oversized jackets, berets, headbands, military cargos, wrap shirts and dresses, tie skirts and pants and track pants. Loose-fitted silhouettes and fabrics that danced with the movement of the model seemed to dominate the collection. Georgine ROCKS the NYFW Runway!
Wow. Georgine’s SS17 show was the epitome of punk rock, sequins, and bad girl designs. When the lights dimmed, the gallery at Skylight Clarkson Square was hit with the sounds of rock and roll. The models rocked short, sharp-angled haircuts and heeled combat boots, while flaunting some seriously cool pieces. We loved it. Skirts, dresses, and jackets dominated the runway, and if the piece didn’t have sequins on it, it stood out with a cut or a bold pattern or crazy and fun buttons. Our favorite piece was a leopard-esque jacket, oversized...More... |

Naeem Khan NYFW SS17: Star-Studded and Spectacular
Naeem Khan floored the last day of New York Fashion Week with his Spring '17 collection. A slow, elegant presentation, the new collection was dynamic, ranging from retro color schemes and cuts to sheer A-lines nostalgic of a past era. It was truly a pleasure to watch. The cuts, the colors, the movement of the fabric was all spectacular, perhaps even impressing the star-studded audience headed by Iris Apfel. Khan did not give into trends of fast-paced, pop-inspired themes characterizing many of the shows we've seen this week, but rather let his work make the real music. The models moved demurely down the ultra-long runway, rocking red-bottom heels. Some sets in the collection were invariably formal, others reminiscent of the early 20th century...More... |

The founder and creative director of KARMA for a Cure presented her New York Fashion Week show last night at Pier 81, and on a boat no less. Inspired by the sunsets of St. Tropez, St. Barths, Bermuda, Ibiza, and Capri, Minutolo’s designs were nothing short of airy and beautiful. Maintaining a neutral color palette, the looks featured deep cuts and fun add-ons to favorite resort looks, like hoods on rompers and head scarves we can pair with long, flowing kimonos. The show was perfectly curated, the runway spanning the boat’s floor, starting at sunset, and ending with a nightly cruise showcasing the best views of Manhattan. Accompanied by a live band, the evening was an amazing....More... |
Irina Shabayeva NYFW SS17 Runway Show
Twenty minutes after the hour, a packed ballroom of onlookers anxiously awaited Irina Shabayeva’s New York Fashion Week event at the Manhattan NYC, an Affinia hotel. The room’s over-the-top chandeliers glistened as Rihanna and Jay-Z came through the speakers, and the lights slowly dimmed for first looks. Instantly, we were hit with an all black, two-piece look, the designer’s signature style.
Shabayeva’s designs rarely stray from a monochrome template - something the Project Runway Season 6 winner was initially criticized for on the show. Ultimately, Heidi Klum told Shabayeva her line was “sleek, modern and cohesive” and “it told a story,” which Shabayeva was able to convey yet again, nearly 7 years later. Something we love about Shabayeva’s designs is that she’s not afraid of texture. The New York City based designer accented her pieces with feathers and lace, using chiffon to bolster the looks....More... |
