Mimi Tran: Taking the Lead on the Runway and for Charity

New York Fashion Week is full of countless runway shows, lounges and afterparties. One organization has decided to change it up with an event that highlights fashion, dance and charity. Fashion + Fun & Pop by designer Richie Rich is a fundraising gala that is organized by the Carol Galvin Foundation, which supports moms with cancer in need of financial support. On September 12th at the PlayStation Theater, the annual event took place with Mimi Tran as the lead designer.
The runway show featured twenty pieces of Mimi Tran's SS18 evening wear line. Mimi specializes in designing sensuous and form fitting cocktail dresses that sculpt the body and accentuate feminine curves, and all of her looks empower femininity, while paying tribute to modern glamour. Tran strives to create dresses are both comfortable and look as good as they feel. The looks during the show were both sexy and elegant. Tran is a Vietnamese-American designer that is based out of San Jose, CA. Her stunning line has been worn on celebrities such as Ally Brooke from 5thHarmony, Tara Reid, Vanessa Simmons, Chanel West Coast, Kelsea Ballerini, Sofia Reyes, Lilimar Hernandez, and Allison Holker, and featured in magazines including Regard Magazine, Jute Magazine, Obvious Magazine, Lucy’s Magazine, and LA Fashion Magazine.
