The enchanting Angel Orensanz Center, located in the heart of lower east Manhattan, was spectacularly lit up and dazzling on the second night of this year's New York Fashion Week on February 10, 2017. Fashion lovers from around the globe were all jazzed up to lay their eyes on the brilliant work of several talented designers inclusive of: Oscar De La Renta, Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Alexander Wang, and Carolina Herrera unveiling their 2017 Fall/Winter lines collections. Needless to say, the venue was exuding audible admiration for the creativity displayed! One designer in particular happened to catch the eyes of many attendees. Her clothing displayed a beautiful fusion of contemporary silhouettes that stemmed from India's richly rooted culture and charm. Fashion Designer Vaishali Shadangule's Autumn/Fall 2017 collection 'Chaatak' was definitely a visual treat on the runway. Her elegant line welcomed the world into a montage of majestic hues of blue, brown, black, white, and gold. What made Vaishali's ensemble of dresses, jackets, and tunics particularly unique were her incorporation of traditional weaves done in wool and Khadi along with her liberal use of draping to accessorize the pieces. The drapes transported onlookers to a variety of styles...catching glimpses of the classic Indian Sari "Pallu", carefree bohemian sarongs, and innovative fashion forward creations. The icing on the cake? Cute pockets to fit lovely Coolpad phones! The models sashayed down the runway taking their selfies! An adorable touch! Take a bow Vaishali! |
