Charity…Celebrities...Fashion...Cocktails are the words to describe the Gay Men’s Health Crisis Fashion Forward Benefit held on November 8, 2010 which was presented by Bank of America. Hosted by Tim Gunn, this extravagant event featured a cocktail reception, silent auction, live auction and fashion show focused on raising funds toward the fight against AIDS. The money from the event benefitted the Gay Men’s Health Crisis non-profit which was named for the early name of the AIDS virus and evolved from the first ever AIDS hotline set up in 1981 by six men who feared the then mysterious disease. The event was expected to raise $250,000 for GMHC's mission to feed and counsel those living with HIV/AIDS.
Some of the celebrities that walked the Red Carpet included stylist Patricia Field, Jill Zarin and Kelly Killoren of “The Real Housewives of New York City”. The silent auction included items such as an autographed poster of Sex & the City 2, play tickets, furniture and designer clothing. The live auction prizes included an 8-night Far East Odyssey trip in China, and a 10-night Enchanting Italy trip. The showcase of designer collections on the runway show included Diane von Furstenberg, Yigal Azrouel, Richard Chai, Narciso Rodriguez, Simon Spurr and Anna Sui.
The Fashion Forward benefit was a tremendous success, it raised money for a very worthy cause and provided guests a very memorable/fashionable night, we fashionably look forward to next year's event!
