MBFW Spring 2012: Perry Ellis

Creative Director, John Crocco is said to have been inspired by an “An American safari in a painted desert,” for the Spring 2012 collection. The line translated this into a collection of linens, cottons, safari shorts and light sweaters. Unlike what many other designers are presenting with bold colors, the Perry Ellis collection appeared steeped in the colors of the desert and sunsets – neutrals, oranges and greens. It was a warm and soothing collection that stayed true to the Perry Ellis brand of the casual, elegant, American man.
The front row had quite a few familiar faces but no one seemed to notice anything once Joe Manganiello, a.k.a. “Alcide” from HBO’s True Blood, walked in, smiled and chatted with fans and friends.
John Crocco, was appointed creative director at Perry Ellis International in 2005 after having already served as Senior VP of Design and Merchandising at the company. He graduated from NYU.
