Michael Kuluva teamed up with Creaky Joints, the world’s premiere community platform for patients of rheumatoid arthritis, for the presentation of his brand Tumbler & Tipsy in Midtown, Manhattan. The collaboration was aimed at promoting research and care for rheumatoid arthritis patients, a disease he has opened up about having himself. Super hip, and everything fun, the show was a crazy mix of musical performance and models with familiar faces.
The show opened with a dazzling performance by the very flexible, scantily clad Neon Hitch singing several of her biggest hits. She was immediately followed by super cute Miliana Giudice (daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey Star, Teresa Giudice), who was beaming to open the show, and brought a smile to the faces of the entire audience. The clothes themselves were the love child of sliced tulle, and re-appropriated streetwear; however the pieces were crafted to focus on the joints most vulnerable to |
rheumatoid arthritis. Other models rocking the dynamic line were Olympic medalists Daliah Muhammad and Nia Ali, Asaf Green from “So You Think You Can Dance” and Somaya Reece from E! television series Famously Single.
Kuluva came out dancing at the end, sporting glittery sneakers and a catwalk to compete with the best. While the fashion may not have stolen the show, it was a refreshing presentation that spoke to the possibilities of what fashion can be, and really is.
