Chiara Boni impressed this week as NYFW comes to a close. Her signature timeless, seasonless couture, her collection flaunted clean lines, phenomenal fits, and surprising moments of movement.
The color scheme was a range of Spring '17 ready nudes, pale pinks, blues, and hints of black. Though ultra feminine, Visible structure In many of pieces added an industrial undertone, ensuring the clothes were not lost in flowers. The show began with a video reel of models styled like it was 1954, set in a vintage hair salon. This media certainly set the stage for the retro cuts and motifs (namely, butterflies) shown in the collection. They producers of the video also may have been hinting at the fabulous hairstyles the models would soon walk with: they were teased, curled, and big, big, big. As all NYFW events the show was attended by a host of press, buyers, and fashion girls--all lining the front row. From the murmurs in earshot, the collection was well-received. Boni may not have made waves with this collection, but she certainly reminded us of the value of the past |
