Wang Tao gave women’s suiting a whole new meaning in her Taoray Wang “Crossover – Classics Meet Modern” Autumn/Winter 2017 collection. Each look was trendy without straying away from the overall classic suiting aesthetic. Wang Tao aimed to empower the modern women with this collection through designing an array of structured looks with a feminine flair. Notable trends included asymmetrical hems, fitted blazers, oversized blazers, brightly colored lining, belted waistlines and wide leg pants. Special textiles used included velvet, lace, wool and leather. A few blazers had leather lapels and collars. Silhouettes were both fitted and relaxed, as the collection focused on combining opposite elements. Most looks solely had solid colors and a few had classic patterns, like herringbone. Models strode down the runway wearing over the knee boots, booties and sneakers. There were minimal accessories, a relaxed hairdo and minimal makeup. Overall, the collection was very sexy and simple. Some models did not wear undergarments underneath their blazers and a handful of looks featured exposed breasts through sheer, lacy material. This collection is perfect for the modern, strong women who is not afraid to approach life with her own means. |
