Few venues are like the Angel Orensanz Foundation, an old synagogue on the Lower East Side. Decorated with eccentric paintings and lively colors, it was the perfect setting for the designers Wanda Beauchamp, Monnalissa and Lulu et GiGi who brought out serious style. Three collections were shown using the sweetest (and youngest) models of the week. From couture to contemporary, these collections were nothing short of fierce and fun.
The show opened with Wanda Beauchamp's line of beautiful billowy skirts and dresses, accentuated with masterfully crafted headpieces and fur accessories. Black, gold, and snow white dominated the runway, streamlining an aesthetically stunning collection.
In contrast, the second collection by Monnalisa displayed amazing ready to wear denim and warm weather pieces that had us packing our bags for a beach picnic.
The final collection, by Lulu et GiGi, was nothing short of breathtaking. The luxury children and teen clothing brand makes a point to feature different ethnical influences in their garments and their latest collection, the Minerva Collection, did just that. The line was inspired by notable women, particularly queens and princesses, from Ancient Persia. Lulu et GiGi believes strong is beautiful, and it certainly was a beautiful way to close the show. All of the models rocked big hair and designs filled with detail, from gold headpieces to sparkling trains. It was impossible to choose a favorite look!
