MBFW Spring 2012: HONOR
By Nina Mehta
September 12, 2011
Giovanna Randall's HONOR SS12 collection was a hit from the start as the first model came out to applause as the skirt of the silk organza "Cupcake Dress" billowed under what seemed like a soft breeze. The looks that followed in the collection were a direct reflection of Randall's romantic aesthetic. Golden neutral hues, romantic drapes, big skirts, lace and textures, as well as dramatic peacock prints, "absent collar" necklines and gold metal collars rounded out the show. A collision of old-fashioned romance and modern edges presented itself and resulted in a gorgeous and truly inspired collection
Designer Giovanna Randall is a bit of romantic herself as to be expected. She was an opera singer before she was a pre-med student and now luxury designer with a devoted following. The front row was filled with fans and celebrities including Malin Akerman, Rose McGowan, Tracee Ellis Ross and Solange Knowles. Malin Ackerman looked stunning in a bright green blouse paired with high-waisted, wide-leg black trousers.
The HONOR flagship store is in the Meatpacking district of New York.
