Sufi Wine Launch
Fashionistas, Business Professionals from the Finance and Wine/Beverage Industries and more More than 100 New Yorkers from the finance, fashion, and wine/beverage industries attended the tasting event for MIRZA
GHALIB, the first trio of wines (red, white, and rose) presented by newly-launched company Sufi Wines, on Thursday night at Devi Restaurant. Wine enthusiasts sipped the Cabarnet Sauvignon/Merlot/Syrah blend, as well as the Viognier, both of which are from the Pays D’Oc region of France and are especially blended to complement the richness, complexity, and spicy nature of Indian foods. “Devi was the first restaurant to have faith in our wines and carry them at their restaurant, so it made perfect sense for us to have our launch party here,” says Sam Bhatia, Principal and Founder of Sufi Wines. “Now, we’re in more than 20 Indian restaurants in the tri-state area, and that number is growing organically through word-of-mouth. We want Mirza Ghalib to be the preferred wine for any Indian meal around the world.”
The wine retails at stores for between $14 and $18 a bottle. At restaurants, Mirza Ghalib costs between $40 and $50. To order a bottle or case online, visit www.sufiwines.com.
