Tanning beds are one of the many favorite places to go for a girl in the winter. Not only to counteract pale skin, but to feel that nice warm heat and pretend to be at a nice warm beach. The UV light exposure is not good for the skin, so why not try an alternative?
There are several types of self tanners out there in the forms of aerosol sprays, lotions, and expensive spray paint treatments. One such self tanner is the Suave Visible Glow Self-Tanning Lotion. After only one use, there was already a subtle tint of a tan on my skin. The lotion is of medium thickness to where spreading is easy, and the bottle itself has tips regarding where to lather up and where to only apply a thin layer.
After three days of use, I have soft skin with a nice healthy looking glow that does not resemble carrot skin, and does not make me look like I have jaundice. The only hiccup I have with the lotion is that if you have areas of severely dry skin with cracks in it (i.e. knuckles, elbows) the lotion tends to seep into those cracks and become mildly darker than the rest of your skin. A recommendation would be to add a layer of regular non-tanning lotion first, let it dry a little, and then add a layer of the Suave Self-Tanning Lotion.
Overall, I am very happy with this tanning lotion, and I will continue to use it for when I cannot get a natural tan. I am actually thinking about using this now instead of the tanning beds all together, because it makes me use lotion everyday to keep my skin soft, and gives me the nice healthy glow I desire. Suave Visible Glow can be found at your local drug/beauty store and costs between 5.79-7.95 depending on retailer.
