New Yorkers no longer need to leave the city to taste some authentic Italian Pasta. On September 12th, owner Giusto Priola opened Pasta Eater in the heart of Union Square. Fresh pasta is made daily in front of customers and curious onlookers. The menu was created by Chef Luigi, whose recipes emulate ancient Italian pasta making methods. The venue is simplistic yet modern and offers table or bar seating. The diverse menu has a selection of delicious and aesthetically pleasing dishes.
The unique entrée experience at the Pasta Eater derives from Chef’s Luigi’s interactive service. Two of the pasta dishes on the menu are prepared and served in a cheese wheel that is brought directly to the table. The Tonnarelli Cacio E Pepe is served in a pecorino cheese wheel and the Pasta Giusto is served in a Parmigiano cheese wheel. A few other noteworthy items on the menu were the Fettucine Al Cioccolato and the Quadrotti Al Nero Di Seppia. The Fettuccine Al Cioccolato may sound like a dessert, but it is actually a seafood dish complete with chocolate fettuccine and scampi langoustine.
The Quadrotti Al Nero Di Seppia is a squid ink ravioli filled with cod and eggplant sauce. The squid ink adds a rich flavor to the ravioli and the dark grey color adds flair to the overall presentation.
The restaurant serves a variety of delicious desserts, our favorite was the Crème Brûlée Al Verde. Green tea is infused in the classic dessert giving it a modern twist and enhancing the sweet and sugary taste.
Pasta Eater has a lunch, dinner, and dessert menu and offers dine in or take out. For more information visit https://pasta-eater.com/
