Engendered for an Equal Tomorrow
December 23, 2009
Engendered (www.engendered.org) is truly representative of South Asian collaborations and the most prolific example of their partnerships is the one Engendered formed with MTV IGGY in 2009 during the non-profit’s “Rock for Rights” festival at the Lincoln Center in New York City. Fifteen musical artists from India, Pakistan, and New York, lent their soulful voices to create a music video specifically for the organization, called “Equal Tomorrows,” the song was written by Myna Mukherjee, Founder and Executive Director of Engendered. The entire video was produced by her as well. MTV has aired this video in six countries so far.
