Celebrating its 20th anniversary, founder Emilie Hoyt of natural wellness brand Lather has just launched a new scrub to mark the occasion.
Emilie founded Lather after suffering severe migraines from an early age, and learning that synthetic perfumes and artificial ingredients in skincare and shampoos were largely to blame. Even more discouraging for her was the realization that most all beauty and wellness products contain synthetic fragrance – where were the products that she could actually use to heal? Motivated to live a happier and healthier life, Emilie decided to create her own line of wellness products. Lather’s products are not tested on animals, are 99% vegan (outside of its Honey Moisture Mask and Brightening Mask with glycolic acid), free of fragrance, color, parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, and, of course, fragrance. The focus of the breakfast was Lather’s brand new version of it’s number one selling product, Bamboo Lemongrass (over 1 million sold in the last 20 years!): the Celebration Bamboo Body Scrub. The Celebration Scrub features Indian-inspired ingredients such as hibiscus, cardamom, cinnamon and more. Emilie knew she wanted to do something to give back to the people who have helped build her products through the years, so for each Celebration Bamboo Scrub purchased, $1.00 is donated in support of Sundara’s initiatives (learn more here). The product officially launches in mid-October and retails for $39. |
Lather is a brand built on integrity and heart. Emilie is not only passionate about developing products, but also about educating people on the dangers of synthetic fragrance in hopes that no one else will have to senselessly suffer like she did. Happy 20th anniversary, Lather!
