KITES: A Spicy Blend of East & West

NEW YORK: Sunday, May 16th was a huge day for the Roshan clan, one of the most well known families in Bollywood. New York City was the location for the debut of Kites; the newest blockbuster with actor Hrithik Roshan who plays against the main actress who is a Latina named Barbara Mori. Produced by Rakesh Roshan and directed by Anurag Basu this premiere which started off with a Red Carpet ceremony was a dazzling event with Rakesh Roshan and his wife along with Hrithik Roshan and his own beloved wife Suzanne Khan making their way into the theater in Times Square with cameras clicking away and the crowd buzzing hysterically.
"Kites" takes place in Las Vegas with Hrithik Roshan playing the role of Jay, a street wise man who is about to cash in on a lottery ticket of fortune by way of courting Gina played by Kangana Ranaut who the daughter of a fabulously wealth casino owner "Bob" played by Kabir Bedi. Just when Jay thinks he has the world in his hands, he falls in love with Natasha who is played by Barbara Mori. It is this sweet love affair that overcomes cultural and linguistic barriers that provides for the excitement and adventure in this heart wrenching movie.
"Kites" is a blend of the East and West, while adding the chili like spice of Mexico into the mix. With love and adventure, hope and heartache, this movie is sure to take its readers on a wild ride. While the movie will captivate you till the end, the conclusion of the movie is far weaker than its exciting plot and cast of talented actors but it is well worth watching and something you do not want to miss!
