IIFA: Biggest Bollywood Celebration Hits the US!

IIFA: Indian International Film Academy took place this year in Tampa bay, Florida. Every year IIFA picks a new country to host their award festival and this year they chose the USA for the very first time!
Festivities began on April 23rd and lasted until April 26th, 2014 and included events that ranged from Fashion Shows, Film Screenings to Media Briefings and Musical Experiences. Some of the main events included IIFA Rocks, IIFA Magic of the Movies and the grand IIFA Awards. IIFA is known for honoring the most talented Indian and International Actors.
International Actors like John Travolta, Kevin Spacey and Steven Baldwin were in attendance of this star-studded Bollywood celebration.The most entertaining of performances during the course of this 4-day extravaganza included John Travolta and Hrithik Roshan dancing on stage during this Saturday night IIFA Awards ceremony and Kevin Spacey performing the "Lungi Dance" with Deepika Padukone! Other thrilling performances included Madhuri Dixit Nene performing a dance for the famous song "Ek Do Teen" and Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka giving a breathe taking dance performance.
IIFA Rocks was held on Thursday April 24th, 2014 at Tampa Convention center and it was full of non-stop Fashion Shows and performances including a special performance by singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
IIFA Magic of the movies was held on Friday, April 25th, 2014 at Mid Florida Credit Union Amphitheater in Tampa Bay, Florida. Hosts Vir Das and Saif Ali Khan did a great job on keeping the audience entertained throughout the entire evening. Technical awards were presented during this invite-only star-studded event. Mika Singh gave a great performance and entire audience could not stop dancing on "Subah Hone Na De". Kareena Kapoor also performed a special dance in a very conservative dance costume.
International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards was held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida: This event was hosted by actors Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapoor and they kept the audience laughing the entire time.
Bollywood celebrities in attendance of this 4-Day event included the likes of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Siddhartha Kapoor, John Travolta

Bollywood Comes to Tampa: International Indian Film Academy Awards Head to the USA!
The IIFA's 15th annual Weekend & Awards Show is scheduled for April 24th -26th. The awards weekend includes events focused on Indian film, fashion, music, business and culture. It is expected to draw 30,000 or more visitors to the bay area.
Every year, IIFA takes its awards weekend to a different country. This year is the first time it will be in the United States. Organizers expect a big demand for tickets based on calls they've gotten from both inside and outside the Unites States as well as on sales for past IIFA galas.
Following its 2000 debut at London's Millennium Dome, the IIFAs have traveled to various destinations over the years including Macau, Singapore, South Africa, Dubai, Sri Lanka and Canada.
In 2011, 25,000 tickets for the IIFA Weekend & Awards show in Toronto sold out in less than 10 minutes. By comparison, Raymond James Stadium has a capacity of 65,890.
The schedule for the awards weekend includes:
• April 23: "IIFA Stomp" Bollywood dance music festival at Curtis Hixon
Waterfront Park, next to the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa.
• April 24: "IIFA Rocks" concert at the University of South Florida Sun Dome.
• April 24 and 25: "IIFA Global Business Forum" at the Tampa Convention
Center.
• April 25: "Magic of the Movies & Technical Awards" show at the
MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
• April 26: The 6:30 p.m. awards show at Raymond James Stadium. The arrival of stars on IIFA's trademark green carpet and the awards ceremony are expected to be broadcast to 600 million viewers in 108 countries.
In addition, IIFA's website offers premium packages costing from $10,000 to $25,000 per person. Those include three-day hotel stays, meals, transportation to events, special access and chaperone service, personal photos with the stars and a good deal more.
