Housefull is a romantic comedy about a man named Aarush (Akshay Kumar), he is the unluckiest man in the world in love and in life. Aarush believes his bad luck can vanish if he finds true love. In this quest for true love, his heart gets broken multiple times, he trashes his best friends place, gets electrocuted and then eventually meets the love of his life. In order to keep everything together, the man who never told a lie was told by his true love Sandy (Deepika Padukone), "jis jhooth se kissi ka ghar basta ho, voh jhooth jhooth nahin hota", which equates to "a lie on which a happy home is built, is not really a lie". Aarush must lie to his true love's brother (Arjun Rampal) and also to help his best friend (Ritesh Deshmukh) out of a sticky situation with his father-in-law (Boman Irani). In the end Aarush learns that lying is not the way to start a family and decides to come clean, however his bad luck plays a part in how his truth gets relayed and how everyone reacts to it.
Housefull has an all-star cast, including big names such as Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta, however with this cast full of extensive talent the movie was an utter disappointment. The story has too many characters and too many different story lines, and was very far-fetched. From hanging out with the Queen of England to having a missing child in the end, this story has a lot of loop holes. If you want to watch a movie that makes sense then this is not the movie for you. The redeeming part of this movie is the comedic situations, fashions and the eye-candy. Housefull is a rental-worthy movie if you want to sit back and have some laughs.
