An Incredible Philanthropist
Did you know that in 1909 Milton S. Hershey founded the Hershey Industrial School (later changed to Milton Hershey School) for orphaned boys? The school's initial purpose was to train young men in trades, but eventually shifted to focus on preparation for college. Hershey donated over 60 Million Dollars to the school as well as Hershey Company's Common Stock. The school now is open to both boys and girls and helps young people break the cycle of poverty. The school offers a top-notch education to students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade from income-eligible families. Admission to Milton Hershey School is totally free and it includes housing, healthy meals, all extracurricular activities, equipment, clothing, school supplies, medical/dental care, and much more. Over 2000 children attend Milton Hershey School each year. Every purchase you make of Hershey chocolate benefits the Milton Hershey School. In addition to creating an incredible school, Milton S. Hershey developed the entire city. When the Great Depression ocurred, Hershey did not want any of his employees to face any challenges, instead of laying off people he hired more people to build a community center and his famed hotel. Milton S. Hershey is one of a kind and when you visit Hershey, Pennsylvania you can feel his presence and the love and respect that the people of Hershey still have for him.
SPAaahing with Chocolate
Besides eating CHOCOLATE, you have the incredible chance of literally bathing in it! At the Hershey Spa located in the Hotel Hershey you can choose from numerous chocolate treatments like a Chocolate Sugar Scrub, Cocoa Facial Experience, Cocoa Massage, Chocolate Immersion (our favorite) and much more. Another perk is that you can enjoy all the chocolate you want in the "Quiet Room" along with unlimited Hershey Hot Chocolate.
