Guy Fieri Opens Restaurant at Sea!

Well-Renowned Chef and Food Network star, Guy Fieri, is making history at sea with his very own restaurant on board several of Carnival Cruise Line’s ships. Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse is a casual open-air eatery that features a wide variety of barbecue favorites using Fieri’s signature recipes, rubs and spices. To ensure guests have an authentic barbecue experience, Carnival installed a real hickory and cherry wood smoker on board, which is a rarity on cruise ships. It is clear that both Fieri and Carnival Cruise Line are committed to serving high quality food. Pig & Anchor uses the finest meats cooked “low and slow” to create that mouth-watering barbecue taste. Entrees available include pulled Championship Pork Butt, grilled Blue Ribbon Chicken, smoked Andouille sausage and Sliced Smoked Round of Beef. In addition, Pig & Anchor features Fieri’s unique take on traditional side dishes such as his Mac Daddy Mac n Cheese, Old Skool Potato Salad, Scratch-Made Slaw, Collard Greens with Smoked Turkey, and Molasses Baked Beans with Bacon and Burnt Ends. All of Fieri’s signature BBQ sauces are available to add to dishes at the hot sauce bar as well. Guests can dine at the Pig and Anchor free of charge while on board their Carnival cruise. |
Currently “Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse” is on board the ship, Carnival Magic. Carnival’s newest and most family-friendly ship, Carnival Vista, will feature the restaurant as well when it arrives in New York in November. In 2017, the Pig & Anchor will open on two more ships, the Carnival Dream and Carnival Breeze.
Guy himself loves cruising with Carnival. Food aside, his favorite part of Carnival’s cruises is the wide variety of activities available. Guy appreciated that there were activities for both his children and himself to enjoy. Speaking candidly about his ADHD, Guy commented, “Trust me, for a guy that gets bored easily, I wasn’t bored”.
