History, culture, politics, monuments and museums- our nation’s capital Washington, DC brings a number of images to mind. The city embodies so many historical moments and beauty with its French architecture, it's no wonder that it is a top location for both tourists and business travelers!
On our recent visit to this beautiful city, we were invited to stay at the luxurious and trendy Dupont Circle Hotel. The hotel has been family-owned and operated since 1997 and is a member of the luxurious Doyle Collection from Ireland. It offers guests boutique-style personal service and comfort in one of the capital’s iconic neighborhoods, Dupont Circle. Just steps away from Embassy Row, seven blocks from the White House, close to famed art galleries and museums, and just one minute away from the Dupont Circle Metro Station, this hotel is not only luxurious but conveniently located.

Besides having excellent accommodations and beautiful event spaces, the Dupont Circle hotel also has two dining venues that offer a range of quality food and drink. Bar Dupont offers lunch and dinner while the modern French brasserie Cafe Dupont serves breakfast, dinner and weekend brunch. Both venues feature modern American style cuisine with French influences from Executive Chef, David Fritsche. Our top picks were the Belgian chocolate waffles and smoothies from Café Dupont and the Truffle Chicken Wrap with Truffle fries from Bar Dupont. Both dining venues offer a wide selection of cocktails to suit every taste. We loved the "Alan's Love" which is one of their most popular cocktails. |
Washington, DC is home to amazing restaurants, museums and exciting nightlife. Just blocks away from The Dupont Circle Hotel are countless museums that the nation's capital is known for. From the National Botanical Garden to the National Museum of the American Indian, there is a museum that is perfect to suit any interest. One of our favorites is the National Museum of Natural History, it houses dinosaur fossils, gems like the "Hope Diamond", insects and more. The museum also has an exhibition entitled "Bollywood and Beyond' that showcases the culture and history of South Asians living in the US. This museum is free for all visitors. Another one of our favorite museums is the Newseum. This museum is rated as one of the top ten museums in the US, it features the largest display of sections of the Berlin Wall outside of Germany, a 9/11 exhibit, a display of the Pulitzer Prize winning photographs and the top stories in US history including the shoe bomber, the Lindbergh kidnapping, the Unabomber and more. Tickets can be purchased via newseum.org |

A short drive from The Dupont Circle Hotel is the DC Brau Brewery, which was founded in 2011. DC Brau is the biggest brewery in Washington, DC. They were also the first craft brewery in the city and their beer is distributed across the East Coast including Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. DC Brau manufactures 16,000 barrels of beer a year. They consider themselves a microbrewery since they produce a small batch of beer with quality ingredients. They add hops to the beginning, middle and end of their brewing process. Two friends started DC Brau together and now have 23 employees and 4500 accounts. DC Brau has a weekly event every Saturday which allows customers to come for beer tasting/purchasing and food. They brew a double IPA about 5 to 6 times a year that sells for $20 per six-pack. DC Brau has a strong and loyal fan following. Some customers drive across the country to purchase their unique craft beers. For more information on the brewery visit: DCBrau.com |
