NEW YORK: An elegant ballroom, musical performances, celebrity guests and delicious cuisine welcomed hundreds of supporters of YOUR DIL New York for their sixth annual gala entitled “Revive-Rebuilding a Dream”. The gala which is held annually raises funds for the eradication of illiteracy in Pakistan by establishing schools for underprivileged children.
The annual gala was held at the beautiful Prince George Ballroom in Manhattan on December 4, 2010 and was a tremendous success. Aasif Mandvi from the Daily Show made a special guest appearance and praised YOUR DIL for their efforts throughout the year. The gala also featured a musical performance and a silent auction that included many items that were donated from Sephora, MAC, Lavo and others.
YOUR DIL is a chapter of DIL which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. DIL's fundraising activities with contributions from YOUR DIL have helped to operate 150 schools in the rural areas of Pakistan with approximately 16,000 students. The gala served as a platform to raise awareness of YOUR DIL's support in Pakistan as well as to raise funds to support DIL's initiatives to train teachers, so they can be skilled community leaders and encourage others to fulfill their dreams of getting an education.
We look forward to supporting upcoming YOUR DIL events. For more information on how you can contribute or get involved with YOUR DIL visit: www.yourdil.org
