From the contemporary vibe of the restaurant to the twist on traditional dishes, Badshah Modern Indian Restaurant is unlike any other Indian restaurant that you have ever dined in before. Traditional Indian dishes have been transformed by global influences to create dishes that are both beautiful to the eye and a delight to devour. Just having opened in April, this restaurant already has a strong following. Head Chef Charlie Mani attributes this to having unique and flavorful dishes that capture the essence of Indian cuisine but without the spiciness that scares some people away.
From the moment that we stepped foot into this "modern Indian" restaurant, we knew that we were in for a unique experience. The restaurant's decor and vibe was unlike any other Indian restaurant we have ever visited. We were greeted by Head Chef Charlie Mani, who ensured that any food allergies were addressed prior to starting us off on our global food journey. Our dinner began with a typical Indian street food appetizer "Gol Goppa", which was dressed up with edible flowers. Also known as “Paani Poori”, this particular version had a multi-level blend of both sweet and spice notes. Our meal continued with the famous Badshah Cauliflower which is a fusion of Indian and Chinese food, the appetizer was very crispy and the flavor was a bit reminiscent of sweet and sour sauce. |
Our dinner featured dishes that were traditional with a twist like Punjabi Samosa with fenugreek sauce that has a similar taste as a butter chicken sauce and the Boneless Tandoori Chicken made with brown meat. The Butter Chicken was divine, not overly spiced and perfectly cooked.
From Badshah's Daal Makhani to their Garlic Naan and everything in between every dish was cooked to perfection. Badshah Modern Indian Restaurant is the perfect restaurant for those that want Indian flavors with a global twist. We highly recommend trying the Chef Tasting Menu which is an incredible value which includes four appetizers, five dishes, three sides and a dessert.
