God Bless Bitcoin takes a deep dive into the moral and ethical aspects of Bitcoin and the impact that this money can have on the world. The movie is available for free online at https://www.godblessbitcoin.com/ Please see below for an Interview with Brian and Kelly Estes. They are a dynamic married couple and producers and executive producers of God Bless Bitcoin film, which is available for free now. Brian helped build, finance, and mentor 6 blockchain companies that have a combined value of over $50B and Kelly has devoted the last thirty years to education as a teacher. What prompted you to make a movie about this topic? "Over the past few years, we’ve noticed how much everyone is struggling. In the grocery store, we see parents telling their kids that they can’t get a favorite cereal because it costs too much or that they need to get a generic brand. We see people filling up only halfway at the gas pump because they don’t have enough money to fill an entire tank. It’s painful to see. Even our own children, despite having college degrees, struggle to stretch their paychecks to cover their bills. People in all walks of life are wondering what they are doing wrong. Because of that, Brian felt called to make a movie that explained why no matter how many hours we work, our money |
can’t keep up because it is broken; but bitcoin could be a more ethical and moral form of money. Since Brian is not a storyteller, he asked Kelly to help him explain what he had in his head and heart. As a writing teacher, she agreed to help him get his story out. So, we teamed up to create God Bless Bitcoin."
How long did it take to film this movie?
"Two years"
Where do you think the interaction between religion and finances comes into play?
"It wasn’t so much that we set out to pair these two; that was a natural evolution of the goal, which was to examine money through a moral and ethical lens. The base layer of morals and ethics are the sacred scriptures of the world’s religions: the Bible, Torah, Koran, etc. It is no accident that money is one of the most discussed topics in the Bible; humans struggle with how to use money well. So, if we look at our current financial system to judge its ethics, we see that the printing money with no hard asset to back it actually steals our time and God-given talents from us, allows governments to wage war, and to punish its citizens and other countries. It appears that our current money is not ethical or moral. We then looked at bitcoin to see if it might be a more moral form of money. Turns out, it holds its value since there are only 21 million that can ever be created, it is decentralized so governments can’t weaponize it."
What is the message that you want your audience to come away with?
"Our goal was to pique people’s interest and show them the hope that bitcoin offers. We believe that knowledge is power, so our film gives a general explanation of bitcoin and how it works, but ultimately, the film is a springboard for people to learn more about how bitcoin can help them live a life of abundance."
